Saint martin island of Bangladesh, in Chittagong Division is the one & only coral island of the country. This coral island is also known as the Narikelzinjera to the local peoples because of having a lots of coconut trees. This island is the last southern part of our country and is on the visage of the Naf river.This island situated between 20 degrees 34 minute and
20 degrees 39-minute North latitude and 92 degrees 18 minute and 92 degrees 21
East longitudes. About 5.2 Square Kilometre area covers this island. Including
the Rocky are of the sea it covers 12 square kilometres. This island becomes the border lines between Bangladesh and Myanmar.

- Uttar Para: This site is the northern parts of the island.
- Dakhin para: This is the southern parts of the island.
- Maddhaya Para: This is the middle parts of the island.
- Golachipa: This is the narrow parts of the Island which connects the Uttar para & the Maddhaya para.
- Cheradiya: This is the uppermost southern parts of the island and the most last sovereign part of our country.
Best time to visit Saint martin Island:
You need to know the weather forecast before planning the tour. Because the weather is most important for enjoying this fabulous beauty of the island. For this reason, March to July is popularly known as the Off Season to the tourist because in this time our country face several Cyclone. So it can be risky however some tourists visit at this time. I personally forbid you to visit at this time. You can go to the island November to February because at this time the island weather is the best to enjoy its natural beauty.
The way to go Saint Martin's island:
You have to reach Teknaf, Cox's Bazar at first. Then you can go Saint Martins Island through ship.
Several bus services e.g. Hanif, Shayamoli, Unique and
Saint Martin Poribahan, leave Dhaka to Saint Martin around 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm. You can go to Chattogram through Train then from Chattogram you can visit Teknaf. There are several flight service also. So you can use any of them to reach Teknaf.
From Teknaf you can go to the island through Ship. Some people use Trollar which seems risky to me. The ship started its journey at 9:30 sharp so you need to reach before this time. The ship again started its journey 3:30 pm from the island for the Teknaf.

There are several hotels in this island however not enriched as Cox's Bazar. Several organizations are also running their projects in this island, so these are also creating some accommodation facilities. Govt. are also trying to build some hotels to facilitate the tourists attraction however need to consider the natural cycle of the island.

what you should avoid in the Island:
- shouldn't collect or buy dead or alive corals
- shouldn't pollute the beach by throwing food utensils or bottles
- avoid fishing or hunting
- avoid the nesting place of red or green turtles because these are endangered
- don't make any noise that can hamper the natural ecology of the animals of the island.
This place
may infatuate you from every corner of its beauty. The govt. takes several
steps to preserve its natural beauty. Several volunteers are also working to
make it better place. So make it more attractive you shouldn't put off
your using plastic materials or other accessories in the island.
